To start, Dr Shara will do a nutritional health consultation to gather information. She’ll ask about health challenges, conditions, comorbidities, eating patterns and food diaries. After she pulls all this together, she’ll select the easiest plan for the patient to follow. She’ll put together recommendations and coach them through the program. Dr Shara follows patients closely the first few weeks, progressing to once a week; then once a month.

Dr Shara also treats patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS), tummy indigestion, bloating, headaches, and hormonal imbalances, usually due to diet. Think of your new nutritional plan as a supplement on the journey to better health. Results might not be immediate but, if you stick with it, and follow your counsellor’s advice, the change will be dramatic.

One patient was a Crossfit athlete who had terrible bloating. She reduced the acidity of his diet, slowly changing it to alkaline, and his problems disappeared. Other possible benefits from nutritional counselling include better sleep, more focus at work, less moodiness and fewer bouts of depression.
